
I Have a Dream
In the spring of 1963, Martin Luther King, Jr. set up a presentation in downtown Birmingham, Alabama. Many people from different cities came. Police turned dogs and fire the hoses on the people who attended. Martin Luther King was sent to jail with large amount of supporters of his, nut the event drew many peoples attention thought nationwide. King did not give up on anything. He made plans with his supporters to have another demonstration but bigger. On August 28, 1963, Martin Luther King said his famous speech "I Have a Dream". More than 200,000 please attended to Lincolns' Memorial. I Have a Dream is a 17-minute public speech by Martin Luther King in which he talked about how black and white people are equal. There will be no more difference between a white and a black men. The speech was ranked as the top American speech of the 20th century. This led Martin Luther King to receive the Nobel Peace Prize for 1964.
